Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 on the 15th of June, 1996 from Stavanger) is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to pursue music for personal growth, rather than for the purpose of making money or for as a hobby. The Aksnes family inspired her to write. Her inspirations include famous writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love for Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform the songs she wrote publicly after her mother said they could help people not be famous with her work but to make those around them see their own importance and how they can affect the world. She started playing piano at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. The family did not have any idea until she was 14. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. Her sole passion is to write music. She says that music is her most preferred way to feel anything.
