Anika Noi Rose, an American actor and singer, is a renowned name in the world of entertainment. Her most well-known character is Tiana the first Disney African American Princess. Rose was named a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose starred as Lorrell Robinson on the Academy Award-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1973) is an American performer and vocalist. She was best known for her performance as Tiana the Princess from Disney. She is one of the very first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She was named a Disney legend in 2011. Her other starring role, as Lorrell Robinson, on the show Dreamgirls (2007) which received nominations for the Academy Award. And she is the jukebox player LaVerne Ganner on Starz's series Power. Alongside her acting work, she's famous for the roles she played in the theater. They include Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway adaptation of Caroline or Change (2005) for which the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Musical was presented and Beneatha on the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) where the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were presented.
