Anika Noni has a career as an American actress and vocalist. She is most famous for her part as Tiana, the Princess and the Frog's African-American Princess. She was named as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose appeared in Lorrell Robinson, from the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American actor and vocalist. Her most well-known role is voicing Tiana Disney's first African-American princess as seen in The Princess and the Frog (2009). The Disney Company named her a Legend in 2011. The same year, she was recognized for her performance in Dreamgirls (2006) that earned an Academy Award for Best Picture. In the Starz show Power she played LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Her other notable roles include her performances in theatre particularly due to her roles in the lead role of Emmie Thibodeaux in The Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Musical. She also played Beneatha Younger as part of the Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she received nominations for the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a play.
